VETERANS SHOWS BLACK FLAG TO CENTRAL MINISTER.



Ex-servicemen planning to show black flags to Gadkari,detained

Ambala (Har): About 20 ex-servicemen, were detained on Monday when they gathered to show black flags in protest against the delay in implementation of 'One Rank One Pension' (OROP), to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who was on a visit here.
Police said Gadkari’s convoy was to pass through the route and the protesters, who had planned to shows black flags to the Minister, were detained and released after a while.
The convoy could pass through the route peacefully. The ex-servicemen, who arrived at Indira Chowk near Ambala Cantt here in two vehicles with black flags in their hands, were raising slogans demanding immediate implementation of OROP. The retired army men have been holding relay hunger-strike for the past several days in Ambala City for this demand. Gadkari, the Minister for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping was in Haryana, including Ambala, today for foundation laying ceremony of 326.40 km long three National Highway projects worth Rs 3018 crore. These include four-laning of Yamunanagar to Barwala Section on NH-73, Hisar to Dabwali Section on NH-10 and Ambala to Kaithal Section of NH-65.
