In this context it is intimated that the issue regarding bridging the gap between pre and
post 2006 has already been finalized by government. The Govt. order on this subject has already been issued vide MOD letter No.17(4)/08/(2)/D (Pen/Pol) dt.18.08.2010 (copy enclosed for ready reference). It is further added that the suo-moto Corr. PPO will be issued for affected cases. The software program for implementation of this Govt. letter is under preparation and required Corr. PPO will be issued as and when the program is developed.

Not able to attend the pension Mela, Two veterans , both brother-in-Laws , called on at our Trust Office to verify the correctness of their Pension.

They thanked us for such a voluntary service for the cause of veterans in our area .

On our pension Mela, it was noticed that one Sgt.was getting less pension.

His particulars are:

On verifying the Discharge certificate and the PPO , we found that his Group was III, but he was being paid pension for IV th Group, hence a short payment. .

The fact was informed to the PDA with a copy to their CPPC at Chennai for correction.

The aged Sgt.was pleased with our tireless and thanked us for such a voluntary service and action.

Dear friends,

July 26 is Kargil Vijay Diwas, the 12th anniversary of the Kargil conflict during which as many as 527 Indian military personnel were martyred and 1,363 severely wounded. Four Param Vir Chakras were awarded, two posthumously and nine Maha Vir Chakras were awarded, six posthumously besides 55 Vir Chakras.

Several households – both military and non-military ones – have appreciatively adopted the poignant ceremony of lighting candles at home in the past two years.

You are requested to light a candle each at your residences' entrances and lay a marigold each by its side at 2000 hrs after saying a prayer for those who did not come back. This may additionally be done at offices.

The Veteran was happy and thanked us for taking immediate steps in this regard.

ONE MORE 80 YRS AND ABOVE PENSIONER HELPED, THE 27 TH ONE.

During our interactions with veterans in the recent pension Mela, we noticed that one ESM had completed 80 yrs of age.

His full particulars :

PDA: Canara Bank, Srivaikuntam Turticorin-Dist, TN.

As per his discharge certificate, he had completed 80 yrs of age on 20-10-2009 and became eligible for an additional pension of 20%.

The fact was reported to the PDA , and the Manager was kind enough to accept our findings and promised to effect the Additional pension in this month itself.

The aged veteran was very happy and thanked us for the timely help by our Welfare Trust.

The Suvigya Software, which was developed by CGDA has been successfully uploaded in Air Force Associations’s Website (Beta version), which is under construction now.

YET AYOTHER VETERAN HELPED FOR REFUND OF MBS DEPOSIT MONEY.

During the interactions with veterans in the recent Pension Mela, we noticed that the under mentioned ESM did not receive the MBS deposit money so far.

On scrutinizing his pension and other papers for correctness of pension, we noticed that the original Medical Benefit Scheme Certificate was held by him. He was not aware that it was to be returned to AGI Fund and get the refund of deposit.

Immediately we prepared an application to AGI Fund, New Delhi , furnishing all the required particulars for refund of the MBS deposit money. The Tappal was dispatched on the same day to AGI.

The innocent Ex-Serviceman was very happy and thanked us for the timely , voluntary help by our Trust.

ONE SENA MEDAL AWARDEE HELPED.



    Our Liaison Officer Sgt.S.Kanthiah is informing the Enhanced rate of Sena Medal award to Ex.Nk.Annamalai.



On our Pension Mela, we came to know that one Veteran was a Sena Medal Awardee and was receiving Rs.250/ only.
Particulars of veteran:

PDA: SBI, Sankarankovil, Tirunelveli-Dist.,Tamil Nadu.

The veteran and the PDA were not aware of the Enhanced rate of Sena Medal - Rs.500 w.e.f 14-5-2008 and Rs.1000/ from 30-3-2011.

Immediately we reported the discrepancy to the PDA and Record Office for effecting the payment of Enhanced Rate of Sena meda Award.

The Veteran was taken aback by our instant action and expressed his heart felt gratitude for this help by our Welfare Trust.

ONE MORE INVALIDED PENSIONER HELPED

On our visit and interactions with ESMs in the recent Pension Mela, we noticed that one ESM was discharged after 11 yrs of service on INVALIDED OUT case.

On scrutinizing his pension and other papers, we observed that he was assessed for 40% disability by the board, and discharged on invalided out reason. But he is being paid only service element of Rs.3500/ only . We have taken up the case with his Record office for Non receipt/ payment of disability element.

We also noticed that there is no family endorsement. We prepared the required the Appendix-1, and Annexure-11 immediately and sent it to Record office.

The veteran was not aware of this discrepancies . He was so happy and expressed his sincere gratitude for this timely and very important help by our Trust.

EXWEL TRUST JOINS HAND WITH ESM HELP LINE CENTRE-CHENNAI IN PENSION MELA

A programe of Ex-Servicemen Pension Mela was conducted by ESM Help Line Centre, Chennai at Tiirunelveli district, Tamil Nadu. Hony.Capt. David, Officer In charge HLC was the instrumental for this Mela. All our Trust members accompanied and assisted in all the activities . Hundreds of ESMs participated in the Mela and got verified and clarified their doubts. They were guided for further action where ever discrepancies noted.

Our Trust joined hand with HLC and extended valuable help to ESMs at their door step.

The Mela has made an impression and created awareness among the Ex-Servicemen to know their entitlement and the follow up actions.

The Mela was conducted at Tirunelveli, Radhapuram, Kadayam, Tenkasi and Srivilliputtur.
It was a grand success, the participants and the organizers are satisfied and the ESMs expressed their desire to have such Melas at regular intervals.

EX-SERVICEMEN PENSION MELA

The ESM Helpline Centre, Chennai conducted Pension Mela at Keelamathapuram of Tirunelveli District on 13.07.2011. About 70 ex-servicemen and their families attended the mela.

The same team conducted another mela at Tenkasi on 14.07.2011. The Mela at Tenkasi was a tremendous success. More than 100 ESM and their families attended the Mela. All were given Suvigya Print out and advised to approach their bank where there was discrepancy.

Lt.Col.S.Samsu S. (Retd.) (President Rotary Club, Tenkasi), Hon.Capt.Thirumalai Velu (Retd.) of Kadayanallur Esm. Welfare Association and Hon.Capt K.S.Ramasamy (Retd.) have made very nice arrangements for the meeting. The Exwel Trust appreciates the efforts taken by the above three veterans for the success of the Mela at Tenkasi.

Note: All the Ex-servicemen Associations in Tamil Nadu should now approach the ESM helpline centre at Chennai to conduct such Pension Melas at their places for the benefit of their members.  This is a golden opportunity to get your pension corrected and settled once for all.

HELPING HAND TO ONE MORE WIDOW

On hearing the welfare activities of our Trust, one Widow approached us for getting her family pension.

Particulars :
Name : Smt.G.Vellathai W/O Late Sep.Gurusamy -1351255 ( Died on 10-2-2011)
PPO.No: S/ JN/ 40873/92
PDA: I.O.B, Karivalam VandaNallur, Tirunelveli-Dist, TN.

On srutinising the PPO and interaction with the widow, we noticed that the Joint Notification is already in the PPO and the widow has submitted the death certificate to the PDA and requested them to disburse the Family Pension. The PDA has informed that the action has to be taken from their CPPC at Chennai , and the occurrence is reported to them.

Now it is more that 4 months passed, pension not commenced. We contacted the PDA over phone and informed them to disburse the pension immediately under intimation to their HO, CPPC at Chennai . Meanwhile , we have also reported the delay in switching over to family pension to Record Office, MEG Bangalore.

TOLL FREE NO FOR E C H S


                                                                      ECHS HELPLINE

1. In our continuous efforts to make ECHS services more efficient, transparent and responsive for our veterans we have implemented a 24 x 7 helpline supported by a dedicated call centre.

2. This exclusive helpline has two numbers toll number is 080-4300-4300 and toll free is 1800-103-8666. The call centre provided solutions to our Ex-servicemen on all types ECHS queries like enrollment/empanelled hospital/treatment procedure/claim/policy etc. The helpline is acting as a single point contact to answer the ECHS queries of ESM effectively.

3. In addition, ECHS Helpline is also welcoming ESM queries through SMS on their dedicated number 09741494300, wherein ex-servicemen can ask their query through normal text and send a SMS to get a response on the same through SMS.
4. We are enhancing the spectrum of our ECHS Helpline by introducing the Ambulance and Bed Boarding Services in the immediate future. With introduction of ambulance service the Helpline will be able to provide Ambulance to the ex-servicemen in case of an emergency. The provisioning of ambulance will be payable by the veteran utilizing it. To call the ambulance ESM has to register his demand at 080-4300-4300.

5. With the introduction of Bed Boarding System, the Ex-servicemen would be able to get the updated information on available beds in the empanelled hospitals of ECHS.

6. All these facilities would now be available throughout India through a single number support i.e. 080-4300-4300.

7. You are requested to give these facilities and telephone numbers wide publicity amongst your members.

EXTENDING HELP TO ONE MORE WIDOW

On hearing the services of our Trust, one Defence Civilian widow called on us for a help in getting her family pension:

Particulars fo pensioner:
Name: Smt.Arunachalathammal W/O late Sri.S.Komban Trade : Techinian
Records : Ordanance Factory, Tiruchirapally, Tamil Nadu.
Pensioner died on 4-12-2010.
PPO.No: C/FYS/11164/88 PDA: Indian Bank, Tirunelveli-Jn, Tamil Nadu.

After the death of the pensioner and submitting the death certificate and other documents, the PDA was not prepared to switch over to Family pension, when enquired they said that they require an instruction from Ordanance factory/ CDA .

We reported the case to Ordanance Factory at Tiruchirapally and received the instructions to Disburse Family pension to Smt.Arunachalathammal immediately.

The PDA has now disbursed the pension after our intervention and instructions from Ord.Factory.

The aged widow along with her Son came to our Trust office and expressed their gratitude for the efforts taken by our trust in getting the Family pension .

ONE MORE FEATHER ADDED TO OUR CAP. ONE MORE SPECIA FAMILY PENSIOER HELPED

The aged widow was immensely pleased with our services and expressed her heart felt gratitude to our Trust members at our office.

EXTENDING A HELPING HAND TO YET ANOTHER WIDOW PENSIONER.

Late Nk,G.Perumalsamy expired on 3-5-2011 and on hearing our noble services, his wife approached us for getting her family pension.
The PDA asked her to produce the documents like Death certificate and Legal heir ship certificates.

Date of death : 3-5-2011 PDA: SBI, Kovilpatti, Tuticorin-Dist.

Even after producing the death and Legal heir certificate, they wanted to confirm the Endorsement of Family pension , which was already existing in the PPO.
We reported the incident to Record Office and received a confirmation of Joint Notification.
Now , we informed the same to the PDA and their CPPC at Chennai to commence disbursement of family pension to Smt.Jaya Lakshmi, without further delay.

The Manager has now agreed to start payment of family pension from the Month of July 2011.

The widow was very happy and thanked us for this noble help in getting her family pension.
